LESS IS MORE

My Eyes Are Papid:

Fellas, I have a waiver going, please don't let me down........ WHICH ONE YOU PREFER NATURAL OR MAKEUP? Please post your comments.... Well, Chikas the good thing about either one of these two answers they BOTH ARE HOTT!! I am normally all dolled up, like my women in the 1950's ( I love watching TCM, they are always fabulous, how do you go to bed with feathers and heels on) but I am learning sometimes less is more.. Thanks to Allure's very own outstanding, totally creative, makeup extraordinaire PAT MCGRATH.. LESS IS MORE, the look for 2010 is a natural. Simply wearing nothing but lip gloss, black eyeliner, mascara and rouge on the check shows off our natural beauty and give us all the innocence we often times want to portray. I will tell you a few quick steps to achieving this look and also outfits and styles that will compliment your natural hue brilliantly.... Of course chiks, I will not leave the fellas out. For the FELLAS you can also join in on the natural looks( calm down not makeup). I have also found a couple of cool, breezy looks that will oooze the confidence of a natural man ( TARZAN) lol.... I am loving the casual blazers.. We will all begin class immediately, pencils everyone!!!

Natural Makeup101:
Step 1- Always start with a clean canvas(face) A cleanser, toner and a moisturizer.

Step2- Because we are going natural, No need for heavy foundation, keep it lite. Find a concealer to vanish unwanted dark spots and underneath eyes. Fingers are the best to apply, but a synthetic concealer brush will do.

Step3- I said keep it lite, So for a coverage ,if needed, apply mineralizing powder to dust over canvas.

Step4- Using a Kohl black eyeliner pencil lined the top lid and using a dark-brown eyeliner pencil for the
bottom, this adds less drama. Adding 3 coats of your favorite mascara and cooper tone blush or
bronzer to the apples of your cheeks goes a long way. To add a baby doll affect to your look opt for
a pair of false lashes..

Step5- Complete look with your favorite lipgloss or go for flesh tone lipsticks, wow you look naturally fresh!!

My Manly Natural 101:

Step1- Having a good skin regiment will help to keep skin alluring for the ladies and fellas we love a clean cut dude.. Keeping your beard and edges fresh goes a long way when it comes to a natural look.

Step2- Cargo shorts in all shades of brown gives off a cool laid back feel. Top it off with a v-neck tee choice will make the ladies stop and stare. EXSPECIALLY IF THE ARMS AND CHEST   IS RIGHT!

Step3- Foot work. Choose a nice pair of flip-flops or a more yacht feel with the casual boat shoes ( I call them)lol.. will compliment this look well.

OPTIONAL: Find a nice casual blazer to wear with this outfit.. I love the blazer look. Add class, confidence and more GQ SWAGG " who dat dude" look!!! Did I say I love this look........

Please check out some of the following looks provided. I hope that this will help you with your natural visions of you.

This weeks challenge: I have posted several know how's this week, Find the one that will suit you and post to my page. I will love to see the looks.. The one who has the best look will win ??? Post and see..lol

Have a PAPID weekend.

  1. This can be a very sensitive subject for ladies. I know myself, growing up around Momma Dukes never wearing make-up has led me to be fond of the more natural look. I don't like to get to descriptive cause I like to respect others feelings but I can never understand why some women completely drown their face in make-up. Not to knock what you some of you do cause it's an art in itself, but there's a lot more ways to bring out the beauty in WOMEN than make-up. You actually touched on a few of them too. And ultimately, each man is going to have his own preference, I just feel my all nat-u-ral, finger snappin, nap pickin, oily foreheaded Women, ROFLMBO... I mean, those few times my wife has worn make-up around me have probaly been awkward for her because she knows that I think she's @ her best just natural but she may have felt the want to do something different. Not to say a little make up here and there doesn't compliment the already beautified features LOL. But i can be Tarzan and I'll take a JANE anyday to swing from the trees with me over Memoirs of Geisha... =)

I guess the song with Lauryn Hill & De'Angelo (Nothing Even Matters) can describe what I'm trying to say best lol

  2. I like the natural look..sometimes I guess you get use to wearing makeup until you forget about your natural beauty. I was the type of person that didn't wear makeup, but since I started I can't stop. When I try to do less, my husband be like..you didn't put no makeup on today?? LOL! So he use to it too! Thanks for the tips, I will try the natural look sometimes. Oh I love the V-necks, especially when my husband put them on with a nice pair of jeans..sooooo HOT!
