Black History Month Celebration: THROUGH THE ARTS

My Eyes Are Papid:

WELCOME HUMP DAY! You have put us one step closer to our most FAB time of the week T.G.I.F (LOL).. On today we continue to celebrate Black History Month with more BEAUTY, LOVE AND STYLE.  As an artist I do realize how important it is to be open-minded and created an avenue for more art, more knowledge, more self-worth, more appreciation and more confidence. This is exactly what the artist of AFRICOBRA out of Chicago did in the late 1960’s. The artists of AFRICOBRA compose pieces of strength, courage and understanding of the African- American struggles during a strong time of segregation and unequal justice. They painted with intense modification and depicted sayings and alphabetic expression to build the black communities of Chicago.  I had the privilege of watching the documentary on Monday and was moved by their talented and creative to be use to empower and strengthen our culture. Amazing, AFRICOBRA we celebrate you on BEAUTY, LOVE AND STYLE. For more information please visit the Africobra website http://www.africobra.com/.  Happy “Hump Day”… smoochies...
