In honor of  our LOVING OUR MEN WEEK , I found a young gentleman who is not only worthy of being loved, but has shown his love for our young man and women of tomorrow through his
WAKE UP MENTORING PROGRAM. Mr. Dante Johnson a Florida native,  is an graduate of Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. He took his football and track abilities and made the touch down of his life to our future; our kids.  Let's take a look through the eyes of a TRUE player.. 

INTERVIEW: MR. DANTE JOHNSON FOUNDER OF WAKE UP MENTORING PROGRAM

Well, Mr. Johnson, it is such a pleasure to meet up with you. I have heard so many great things about your Wake Up Mentoring Program here in Orlando, Fl. It is my honor to be able to present and show the world your awesome contribution to our community..  smh ( ladies he is easy on eyes, if you know what I mean) lol.....
Q:What was your dreams and desires as a young man?

A: My desires was to be a NFL Football player. I always knew this is where I would be, amongst the stars..

Q:What made you start the Wake Up Mentoring Program?

A: Well, I graduated from High School and attended the Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa where I played football and ran track. I gained several accolades from my athletic ability, but I knew that was something greater in me. I  knew that there are other kids who were struggling with no direction that need an extra push to succeed and I wanted t be that liaison between trouble and success!

Q: Wow, Mr. Johnson so, you gave up your dreams as a pro athlete to pursue others dreams? You did make it to the pros right?  That's impressive, how long has your program been in existence?

A: Thanks, it the grace of god. Yes, I played AFL football and still continue to train with flag football. ( laughs) . I know my God will provide. My program has been in existence since 2006 and our numbers of participants are increasing and so has our sponsorships. We still need more active volunteers, donators and community involvement to really make this program what it really can be..

Q: What are some of your programs and services that Wake Up Mentoring offer?

A: We offer several different programs and services. Our most recent program is the support of the Juveniles who may have records with a chance to start over. Our services include educational workshops, cultural activities, community services events, higher education and self-confidence builders.

Q: If I was to ask what is the most challenging process in running a Non-Profit Organization what would it be?

A: I would have to say the support of the community, It's hard to run an Non-Profit Organization. I wish I had more support from our community so that we can get the young men and women of tomorrow to a place where they need to be. They are our FUTURE!!!!

Q:What is the ultimate goal you have for Wake Up Mentoring Program?

A:  (sighs with excitement) I WOULD LOVE TO SEE WAKE UP MENTORING as a NATIONAL PROGRAM . I would love to see centers built in communities where kids can go to learn more and be more. To have an re-hire program where the kids that passed through Wake Up Mentoring will come back to teach and show to continue the process of a better tomorrow. This is my ultimate goal for my program..
